When is the Rye Free Reading Room Book Sale?

The book sale will be on Saturday, September 18, 2021 and Sunday, September 19, 2021  from 12 pm to 5 pm both days.

What items can I donate to the library book sale?

Please note, donations will not be accepted during the week of September 7, 2021. Donations will resume September 13, 2021 through September 17, 2021.
Beginning June 1st, 2021, you can donate any book in good condition to the book sale. We accept material for all ages and all genres.

What items do you not accept?

Any books that have water damage, mold damage, missing pages or are heavily marked up
Any books that are library discards
Encyclopedias
Reader’s Digest condensed books
VCR tapes or cassette tapes
DVDs
CDs
Magazines
Phone books
Computer books older than 5 years

Where can I donate my items?

Items for the book sale can be dropped off in the blue bin or left immediately in front of the blue bin, if they are already boxed up. The library will not be able to return boxes or bags that are left with donations.

Please do not donate items through the library book return slot.

 

Are my book donations tax deductible?

Your donation is tax deductible. We will provide a letter acknowledging receipt of donated items upon request. Determination of quantity and value are the responsibility of the donor alone.
