Living & Sketching in Africa
A lecture by Wildlife and Conservation Artist Alison Nicholls. Artist Alison Nicholls shares examples of the drawings she’s done in the field and shows the sketching kit she carries.
She will also talk about two conservation projects she has visited in Zimbabwe and Tanzania that work closely with local communities to preserve the wildlife of the region. Some of her paintings will illustrate why so many animals are endangered and show how research helps conservationists target efforts to help a particular species. The presentation will include video clips and photographs showing the beauty of Africa and the diversity of its landscapes, people and wildlife.
