Main Entrance Reopens After Month-Long Renovation
The library's historic main entrance is now open after an intensive month-long renovation.
The library’s historic main entrance was closed from June 10 through August 4 for renovation . During the renovation, workers stripped away the many layers of chipping, peeling paint that accumulated over the years to reveal the beautiful architectural details hidden beneath. The $15,000 project, funded in large part by a New York State grant, included work on the exterior facade and the interior vestibule. In addition to the woodwork, the vestibule walls were stripped down to the original plaster and repainted.
